Bruce and Cheryl Scheiner Receive MADD Heroes Award

Fort Myers, FL – Local law enforcement officers as well as area volunteers were recognized at Mothers Against Drunk Driving’s 13th Annual Law Enforcement Symposium and Recognition event on May 3rd and 4th in Tampa. MADD provided valuable drugged driving education; including a session taught by Cape Coral Police Sergeant, Allan Kolak. The highlight of the Symposium was a recognition dinner where over 250 law enforcement officers, prosecutors, volunteers and victims were honored.
“We are very pleased to have many of our SWFL law enforcement officers and volunteers recognized at this year’s event,” said Lori Burke, SWFL Program Specialist.
Sergeant Allan Kolak, Cape Coral Police Department, and Deputies Jeffrey Pierot and Leonard Gould from the Lee County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit received Century Achievement Awards. Sergeant Tim Cornelius from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office received recognition as a Law Enforcement Officer of the Year candidate. Senior Police Officer, Carlos Najarro from the Lee County Port Authority, was recognized for DUI enforcement. Mr. Bruce L. and Mrs. Cheryl A. Scheiner as well as MADD’s volunteer advisory board were honored with the esteemed MADD Heroes award.
