Victim Hit by Drunk Driver Shares His Story
So I was hit by a drunk driver. It was just a couple minutes after ten o’clock at night and I was heading home and I was waiting for the light to turn green – that’s where I got hit by the drunk driver. I remember hearing the big crashing sound and then I don’t remember anything for I don’t know how long. You know, when it first happened it was just an accident. I know that the first meeting, Bruce (Scheiner) comes in and he introduces himself in that meeting and sits down and talks to you so I know that I met him the first time I was there. They were, at times, more concerned about how I was doing then, then the outcome of the case. And I know that sounds maybe, maybe not quite right because I know in the end they’re always worried about that that’s their job that’s what they’re getting paid to do, but they never make you feel like that. They always made me feel like I was important. That I wasn’t just another number in their file. I don’t think I could’ve been represented better. You know, I don’t know how every case goes, for my case it was insurance companies battling insurance companies and then Bruce and PJ (Scheiner) protecting me from that kind of take this, do this from insurance companies that are looking out for themselves. I had these two phenomenal guys in front of me saying, you know, think about this. The case from the beginning of the case until we resolved it with the other insurance company was two-and-a-half years – roughly. And the legal stuff I don’t understand, I didn’t, don’t want to understand that stuff I just know that Bruce and PJ (Scheiner) through that whole time were making it happen and it took a long time, but in the end I think because of the evidence that PJ (Scheiner) put together and the case that he had built that, that everybody wanted to settle the case, they didn’t want to get acquitted. The Scheiner organization has, maybe they’re a- maybe they’re… maybe they’re special, because they’re, they’re there to help me. They’re not, they’re not trying to rob the insurance company. They’re not trying to get more money than what I deserve or what I need based on what happened. They’re fighting for what, what is right, you know? I stopped at a stop-light, going home from a friend’s house, and somebody that made bad decisions hit me and it changed my life… forever.
I want people to know it’s not, he’s not just a lawyer. PJ’s (Scheiner) not just another guy sitting in an office waiting for you to come in. On a deeper level I know it’s for everybody that walks in that office. It’s about people for them. In the end it’s not about how much money they make. It’s about how well I can take care of myself. So yeah, I’ve expressed it personally to them and this is just another way I can, I can tell them how grateful I am.
