Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner Proud to Support the Efforts of Local Law Enforcement this Holiday Season

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 19, 2019) – Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner is bringing holiday joy and cheer to Cape Coral children this year as a proud supporter of the police department’s annual Shop with a Cop event.

The Fort Myers-based law firm will sponsor two children for a special day of conversation and shopping with a Cape Coral police officer. The event is Saturday, Dec. 14. The day starts with the officer taking the child to breakfast sponsored by McDonald’s. Then, they travel to Super Target for a group photo and shopping. They’ll shop not only for the child but for the child’s family. Thanks to the Fraternal Order of Police No. 33 the Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner sponsorship gives each of the two children money to shop. All of the children, between 35 and 40, will then go to the police department where the presents are wrapped, and they’ll enjoy lunch from Moe’s Southwest Grill. A special visit from Santa Claus also is planned.

“We see the sacrifices that law enforcement officers make every day to help protect our community and we are proud to support their effort to make the holidays a little more merry for our children,” PJ Scheiner said.

This is the 17th year for the “Shop with a Cop” event through the police department’s “Do the Right Thing” youth recognition program.

Cape Coral Police Chief Dave Newlan looks forward to the event each year and loves the interaction with the children. “Of all the outreach events we do, this is one of my favorites,” said Newlan, who has participated for several years. “I am always impressed with the children. They are so focused on buying gifts for their families. This is what the holidays are all about.”
