Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner Revs Up Bikers for Babies
Firm raising money for charity event as presenting sponsor.
FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 18, 2018) – Southwest Florida will be host to America’s last March of Dimes Bikers for Babies police-escorted motorcycle ride on Sunday, Nov. 4. Associates and Bruce L. Scheiner, Attorneys for the Injured, has embraced the cause of giving every baby a fighting chance as the presenting sponsor of the ride from North Collier Regional Park to Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee on Sunday, Nov. 4.
The firm and event organizers hope to raise $150,000 for the critical research and education efforts of the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes invests 76 cents of every dollar in research and support for programs designed to promote infant health and help mothers have healthy, full-term pregnancies.
“The money we raise will aid the most precious and vulnerable among us,” Bruce L. Scheiner said. “We all deserve a fair, healthy start to life, and we’re committed to helping fight disease and pregnancy complications for mothers and babies alike.”
Scheiner is co-chairing the event along with son P.J. Scheiner, a trial attorney for the firm. The ride will be the sole beneficiary of the Bruce L. Scheiner Charity Poker Tournament, set for Saturday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. at the Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track in Bonita Springs.
Roundtrip airfare to Key West, two tickets to a New England Patriots-Miami Dolphins NFL game, and a private plane flight to dinner in Miami Beach are among the prizes up for grabs at the tournament.
Other events geared toward raising money will take place in the lead-up to the ride as individuals, riders, clubs, businesses and organizations compete to be the top supporters of Bikers for Babies. On Oct. 27, teams of bikers will stand on street corners across Lee County from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in a “Helmet Drive” to collect donations from passing drivers.
Everyone who raises $100 will receive a 2018 Bikers for Babies cup. For raising $250, the prize is an adjustable biker hat. A fleece travel blanket is the reward for raising $500.
“There are lots of amazing rewards for helping make this event a success, but the most important of all is the knowledge that you’re improving the lives of mothers and young children,” P.J. Scheiner said. “Very simply, your contribution helps save lives.”
Registration for the event is open at bikersforbabies.org for all licensed motorcyclists and costs $25 for riders and $15 for passengers. On-site registration starts at 9 a.m. the day of the event and costs $30 for riders and $20 for passengers. The ride goes from 11 a.m.-noon with live music until 3 p.m. at the casino in Immokalee.
